Our mission is to pursue excellence in musical learning and performance in order that we may use our musical talents to lift up the name of Jesus and minister through music in our churches and communities to the glory of God.

Our mission is being realized continuously as many of our students participate in ministries where they use the musical talents they have developed through Sound Jubilee. A number of them minister regularly through music in their own churches. Some have gone on to major or minor in music at universities and colleges.

Anne combines a unique and extremely effective method of vocal instruction with a quick wit and easy interaction with her students, making Sound Jubilee Singers rehearsals enjoyable and their performances outstanding. Miss Roby has been involved with music all of her life. She is an accomplished pianist and piano teacher.

After completing her home education, Anne attended Oregon State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance. In addition to directing the Sound Jubilee Singers, Anne plays bassoon in the Wind Ensemble, and directs a treble choir and a men’s choir at Bridgeport Chapel in Dallas.

 Leviticus 25:9
Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the Day of Atonement throughout all your land.

Our Students Comment . . .
Thank you for the special place you’ve had in our lives. You’ve helped us open doors we never even dreamed of.
Thanks for believing in us!!

Play skillfully with a shout of joy!

Psalm 150:3-6
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;
Praise Him with the lute and harp!
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
Praise him with stringed instruments and flutes!
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

  ABOUT US
Sound Jubilee is a music education program designed especially for homeschooling families.
The original group of sixteen students first met in Dallas, Oregon, in May of 1999, and presented
its first concert just three months later. Now entering into our 9th season serving Salem and the mid-Willamette Valley, Sound Jubilee has grown to a group of 90-120 students.

In addition to receiving an excellent music education, students have the opportunity to use those learned skills in association with other students. Through Sound Jubilee, friendships are formed among students and among their parents, who enjoy the benefit of networking with other homeschooling families.

Cooperation and discipline, mixed with a generous portion of fun and laughter, are important aspects of the program. In addition, research continues to affirm the developmental and learning benefits of making music, particularly during the formative years. (See the American Music Conference www.amc-music.org) We think these benefits, along with building a life-long love of music and a precious skill to enjoy and share, are all good reasons for every child to receive a music education.

SOUND JUBILEE PROGRAMS

The Sound Jubilee Band program welcomes beginners as well as more advanced students from the age of nine. Beginning students participate in the Instrumental Techniques class to become familiar with their instruments, music theory and notation, and then advance to the Concert Band. The Sound Jubilee Wind Ensemble is the most advanced band, playing difficult and exciting music, both Christian and popular. Another option for band students is participation in the select Celebration Orchestra.

The strings program begins at age six, but beginners or previous violin or viola students of any school age may join. Strings players advance through stages of proficiency to the Sound Jubilee Strings. Some advanced players will also choose to join the Celebration Orchestra.

Integrated into our program are the choirs, Sound Jubilee Singers for teens, and Jubilation Chorus for children, ages six through twelve. Students will experience a variety of musical styles and participate in performances that have thrilled audiences year after year.

CONCERTS, APPEARANCES AND OUTREACH

Sound Jubilee schedules two concerts each year, a Christmas

Concert and a Spring Concert to showcase the skills they have learned. In addition, the various groups make appearances at other times during the year.   OUR EVENTS CALENDAR
